At Staverton CE Primary School, for our maths curriculum, we follow the White Rose learning and progression scheme, as part of our commitment to quality first teaching and progression.
We use the White Rose scheme because it aligns with our maths ethos at Staverton, that maths teaching is underpinned by the belief that all children need a deep understanding of the mathematics that they are learning. That all pupils will have access to these concepts and the rich connections between them and that all children will be challenged and achieve their potential setting up them up for life beyond our doors.
As part of this intent, as a school, our maths teaching is underpinned by a maths calculation policy that sets out and ensures progression in the methods used and taught across our school.
In order to be able to fully support your child better with their learning both at school and at home please find below our White Rose Long Term Planning and our 4 calculation policies: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
