Behaviour Information

Our Behaviour Blueprint: The Staverton Way is underpinned by the principle:

 Visible Positive Consistency; Visible Kindness

We create:  A Culture of Certainty

Our 3 expectations are:

Be Ready,

Be Respectful,

Be Safe

Our 3 visible consistencies are:

Meet and Greet,

Fantastic Walking;

Fantastic Lining Up

We reward for ‘going over and above’- for effort and use that language CONSISTENTLY

We give first attention to those children who are doing the right thing

  • We show ‘Deliberate botheredness’ CONSISTENTLY: daily acts of care and positive recognition for all children

  • We use a collaborative Recognition Board CONSISTENTLY: throughout lessons, one focus each day / week with the aim that all children have their name added

  • We use the following Positive Consequences CONSISTENTLY:

verbal praise from trusted adults

phone calls home- one a week, every adult

  • We use the following negative consequences (minor) with immediacy and CONSISTENCY:

a non-verbal reminder

a quiet word

a warning

a 30 second intervention (following an agreed micro-script)

time out

  • We have restorative conversations (based on our restore questions).

We expect high standards of behaviour based on mutual respect, responsibility and trust.  Everyone at Staverton Primary School has the right to feel welcome, secure and happy. We say no to Bullying, whether verbal or physical. We are a ‘telling’ school and ask for all parents and children to help us by reporting immediately any incidents so that we can deal with them appropriately.
